James Street Food & Wine Trail 2015

For the past three years, the James Street Initiative has engaged The Arcade Creative to assist with project managing the annual James Street Food & Wine Trail; including programming, entertainment, production, logistics, event management, licensing, stakeholder engagement, volunteer management, photography and video services.

This year’s festival saw the James Street precinct come alive with food tasting, pop up restaurants and bars, cooking demonstrations from talented local chefs, live music and the introduction of a signature series of dishes at each participating restaurant to the delight of Brisbane’s connoisseurs. Offering a larger program than ever before, foodies could participate in degustation dinners, a culinary market and sample street food-style meals from James Street restaurants such as Gerard’s Bistro and Jocelyn’s Provisions.

The event program for 2015 also saw the introduction of the OzHarvest Soup Kitchen on the Friday night, featuring signature soups from James Street restaurants such as Chow House, Bucci and the James St Cooking School . The proceeds from the Soup Kitchen were donated to OzHarvest’s Food Rescue program, which collects and delivers quality excess food from commercial outlets to charities around Australia. With live music, glowing fire pits and mouth watering soups, the OzHarvest Soup Kitchen addition was a resounding success.

In 2015 the James Street Food and Wine Festival tripled in size, with an increase in food stalls, bars, entertainment and a larger, more fantastic Urban Picnic footprint. Saturday saw crowds pour into the venue which made it an extremely memorable day of eating, drinking and great vibes in the Brissy sun.
